THE QUOIZEL STORY
At Quoizel, they create more than lighting and home accessories. Quoizel creates timeless pieces designed with you in mind.

Quoizel does this by avoiding trends and fads, by balancing form and function and by making their choices thoughtfully.

This kind of dedication, integrity and quality not only goes into the design of the Quoizel products, but it’s in the way they do business as well. It’s why Quoizel has  grown from a small company to become one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of fine decorative lighting and home accessories.
Founded in 1930 in New York, Quoizel recently relocated to Charleston, SC to a state-of-the-art 500,000 square-foot facility. And though Quoizel has  grown in size, they’ve never lost sight of their small business heritage. In fact, they remain privately held, family-owned and operated.

TIFFANY INFORMATION
Some of the Quoizel Tiffany designs are reproductions of original Louis Comfort Tiffany designs. Others are from our own creation. All are individual, handcrafted pieces of art glass.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TIFFANY LAMPS, TIFFANY STYLE LAMPS, STAINED GLASS LAMPS, REPRODUCTION TIFFANY LAMPS, AND ORIGINAL TIFFANY LAMPS?

Stained glass lamps are lamps which shades are made of stained glass (many pieces soldered together). Some stained glass lamps have stained glass bases as well. Tiffany lamps can mean many things, but most commonly it is the general term for Tiffany style lamps, Tiffany reproduction lamps, and the original Tiffany lamps made by the Tiffany Studios, New York. Original Tiffany lamps are made by the Tiffany Studios New York in late 1800's and early 1900's Tiffany reproduction lamps are reproductions of the original Tiffany lamps. Tiffany style lamps are stained glass lamps inspired by the originals.
ARE YOU SELLING ORIGINAL TIFFANY LAMPS, REPRODUCTION TIFFANY LAMPS, OR TIFFANY STYLE LAMPS?
Quoizel sells heirloom-quality reproduction Tiffany lamps and Tiffany style stained glass lamps. Quoizel does not sell original Tiffany lamps made by the Tiffany Studio, New York.
ARE THE METHODS AND TECHNIQUES DIFFERENT IN THE MAKING OF TIFFANY STYLE LAMPS, TIFFANY REPRODUCTION LAMPS, AND THE ORIGINAL TIFFANY LAMPS?
The making of most Tiffany style lamps and reproduction Tiffany lamps follow the tradition of the original Tiffany lamps, by soldering many (often hundreds) of counts of colorful stained glass together. However, please be aware that a small number of Tiffany lamps are made of plastics with glue, or entire glass shades from the mold. These kinds of lamps actually can NOT be called Tiffany lamps, and they have much less value than true Tiffany lamps.  We never use plastic in of Tiffany lamps.
HOW MUCH DO TIFFANY LAMPS COST?
The cost of a Tiffany lamp varies. The original Tiffany lamps can go anywhere from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many of the original Tiffany lamps are in private collection and in museums. Vendors of the Tiffany style lamps and Tiffany reproduction lamps usually ask for a few hundred for their lamps. The same quality Tiffany lamps that sell for a few thousand dollars on the antique market can be bought for maybe a hundred dollars from us,  giving you tremendous savings on these beautiful premium art works.

ARE YOUR TIFFANY LAMPS SWAG LAMPS OR ARE THEY MEANT TO BE HARD WIRED?
Quoizel hanging Tiffany lamps are hard-wired, and UL certified. You can easily convert them to swag lamps by extending the chain and cord, however the UL certification will be voided.
WHY DOES MY NEW LAMP FEEL LIKE IT HAS OIL OR GREASE ON THE SHADE?
Upon removing your new shade from the packaging, you may find that it still has some residue on it that was used in the final stage of production to protect the soldering. To remove the residue, use a paper towel to gently wipe the inside and outside of the shade.

HOW DO I PROPERLY CLEAN AND CARE FOR MY NEW LAMPSHADE OR FIXTURE?
Before cleaning Quoizel lampshade or fixture, disconnect the power source (unplug from outlets). To clean the shade, remove dust with either a paper towel or a duster. No household cleaners are needed. To clean Tiffany Style Lighting Fixtures made of opaque stained glass, art glass or jadestone, as well as most metal lamp bases and fixture frames, apply a lemon oil-based furniture polish to a soft cloth and wipe gently. To clean Tiffany style Lamps made of beveled or transparent glass, apply a household glass cleaner (ammonia-free if possible) to a soft cloth and wipe gently. Occasionally, as a result of natural oxidation a white powder may appear on the shade’s soldering. Apply a small amount of Lemon or Mineral oil to the affected area to restore the soldering to its original condition. Remove the oil with a paper towel. DO NOT USE CHEMICAL CLEANSERS AS THEY MAY HARM THE SOLDERING FINISH.

WHY BUY QUOIZEL

Founded in 1930 in New York, Quoizel began as a small business with a limited product line. Today, Quoizel’s corporate headquarters is in Charleston, SC, is a state-of-the-art, 500,000-square-foot facility. Quoizel remains a privately held, family-owned and operated business offering more than 2,000 items in its full-line catalog. Quoizel's extraordinary success is a story that resonates beyond the lighting industry. Quoizel has been featured in stories by Fortune Magazine, Business Week, Cable News Network and CNN's Financial Network.
Quoizel’s unique approach to Tiffany is fueled by their focus on stained glass as a material to be applied beyond table lamps to every product category: fixtures, task lighting, decorative, vases, accessories. Tiffany glass inserts have become a key component in Quoizel’s growing furniture line. One way in which Quoizel has given Tiffany style lamps a more innovative touch is by using trendy glass designs and color combinations in the shades. Another way in which Quoizel has brought Tiffanys into a new realm is by using innovative materials such as jade, agate stone and mica – all still soldered or leaded together in traditional art glass fashion. These materials certainly stretch the purist’s definition of art glass, but the results are breathtaking. Also, by using atypical materials in the bases, such as ceramic, iron and even resin – and forming them into exciting new shapes – the final product can be made more affordable and fashioned into a look that’s anything but traditional.
Quoizel’s line combines the very best that Lenox has to offer in the quality and appearance of fine china with Quoizel’s unique ability to create designs that appeal to a broad market. Each piece is created from hand-polished cast brass, shades made of the finest European fabrics, and luminous china crafted by skilled Lenox artisans. The combination of fine china, the classic Lenox patterns and exceptional brass castings offered a world of elegant possibilities.
The results of that effort are apparent throughout the collection.
  • The china is crafted to surpass the highest quality standards in the industry. Regardless of the size of the porcelain accent -- from the largest table lamps to the smallest wall sconce -- the material is worthy of the Lenox name.
  • Bases are hand-polished cast brass, lacquered for optimal luster.
  • The Burnished Brass finish and the Pewter finish were developed specifically to not only match Lenox china but also to accentuate the design style of each piece.
  • Every porcelain finial was designed and crafted exclusively to match the table lamp that it crowns.
  • The pull-chains include a cast-brass extender, stamped with the Quoizel name, that sets the porcelain tassel at just the right height. It is a sophisticated touch that emphasizes the stylish power of fine china.
  • Switches and sockets are heavy cast brass and engineered to the highest standards.

Of course, lighting products of such charm and sophistication demand shades of equal distinction. The Lenox Lighting line is graced by shades of the finest silk perfectly shaped and proportioned to maximize the lighting effect and function in a highly fashionable style.
